delivery driver

these boots look like they would be perfect for my job.i am out delivering food to schools, hospitals, restaurants, hotels in all kinds of weather, and seems to be raining a lot more here in georgia than normal.my normal hi-techs do a good job,but i have to treat them with a rain protector and having a boot with this technology built in it would make a big difference.but the problem i am having is finding even the regular magnum boot locally to buy without having to order them much less having a specialty boot to try to find.magnum boots are the most comfortable i have ever wore and will be the only ones i will buy.

spider 8

what a great pair of boots. easy to run in and very comfortable indeed. wear these near enough every day and my feet do not hurt at all once i'm wearing these. these are a must buy. at first i was like these are to expensive for a pair off boots but these are different from the standard magnums that everyone wears. light so you can run in them just like trainers and comfortable just like trainers take a bit getting use to them but after a few hours you don't realise they are on.

The Most Comfortable Boots Ever!

Hi
I bought a pair of Magnum Midnite boots about two years ago. I have worn them for every shift and they are so comfortable. I have even wear worn them with jeans etc. when not at work. They required NO breaking in and have never hurt my feet in any way. The canvas parts have not worn at all and the innersoles are stil serviceable. My job entails me walking on the railway tracks in all weathers. My Magnums have worn very well and are just getting to the stage where I need to replace them. They still polish up very well and look smart enough to wear in the office. I cannot reccomend these boots enough. Our issued boots are a nightmare to break-in and just do not look as smart. My only complaint is that the Midnite seems not to be available in the UK any more.
Did I say they were comfortable? Oh and they are lightweight so whilst a long shift can be tiring the boots don not weigh you down ! Also for the wear I have had out of them they were great value.

Magnum Stealth Leather II

I have been wearing these boots for about two years nearly daily, always during wet days.
At the time i bought them, they were a bit cheaper than today, though the current price is definitely reasonable for such great boots.
First of all, the build quality. These boots are meant to be comfortable for hard tactical use, but at the same time, to last a long time. I have had no major issues with it. However, after extensive use, several weak points are beginning to show. First of all, the leather is starting to separate from the sole a little bit. Second, the EVA foam has become crushed over daily use and doesn't cushion anymore as it used to. Third, the tongue of the boot is made of fake leather and it will not last forever (some wear on my pair, can be seen in the photo). Fourth, the part of the boot between the insole and the midsole is made of some paper-like material, which accumulates moisture and is not sturdy at all, therefore it all has broken down and the metal plate is all rusty (the rivets have been gone forever for a long time now). Other than these design issues, it is a really sturdy boot. All the materials are of high quality and worth the price.
Next, the comfort of the boot. After extensive use, i have found them to be extremely good, especially during long walks. However, at the beginning i have had some issues with it, because somehow the left boot was made a bit differently than the right, though after some time this problem disappeared. I have done several hikes with them, including two day hike of 40 kilometers, with a total walking time of 9 hours. Really fast walking was involved, though my feet were totally fine after it. These boots did not need no breaking-in, and i have had no blisters with wany socks whatsoever.
Next, the perfomance in different weather. The waterproofness is not perfect. It has one point where it leaks, it is where the tongue meets the rest of the boot. If you step into a deep puddle, you will have water inside your shoe. However, during wet days in the town, it is completely waterproof. Your feet should be dry no matter what the downpour may be.During the hot period these boots are quite good (Although I wouldn't expect full leather boots to perform well in such conditions). The cambrelle padding manages the sweating quite well. If you have really hot weather, you'll get sweaty no matter what shoes you wear, so the performance is quite good.
The shoelaces on these boots are extremely sturdy, whereas on other boots i have to change them every several months. However, they are a bit slippery, so i use a more secure knot.
In conclusion, the boots are extremely good for their price. They have proven to be a perfect all-around boot and quite good for hard use.

Stealth

OK, I now have a pair of stealth boots. While they are comfortable, they dont quite meet the previous standard set by the Phantom. Aside from the lack of toe protection (not a major issue) the angle of the zip at times causes problems, particularly when unzipping them (dificult to put into words). While i understand the phantoms zip had its weaknesses, I did not find this problem with them. Also, the velcro at the top of the zip could possibly be bigger, as it is at times difficult to secure.
Hope this makes sense.

My first pair of Magnums, I went for what at the time I was advised as been the best of the best......they were. I loved them, untill the zip broke. Admitedly, this was three years down the line, and almost daily usage.
Comfortable, toe protecters, no squeeking around hospital floors,.....excellent boots. I understand the boot is no longer made, so whats next? Can it be beaten?

tough as old boots, well nearly.

i have had the same pair of hi-tec boots for nearly 3 years.i first bought my boots in a closing down sale.not good for him but very good for me. ?15.00. im not joking when i say since then i have purchased magnum swat boots not just as comfy but the style is nearly the same i wont know if the metal strip is at the sole of the mag boot but im in no hurry to find out. the mag boot unlike the older hi tec swat boot tends to rub at the leg a little & nip you above the heel,i wish magnum would style the new boot on the same lines as the hi-tec boot of old. bit more buffer on the upper leg and abit more strength above the heel to cure that nip but hey in a fast moving world, its still a damn good boot.

Stealth Force 8.0 Leather CT/CP

This is the second pair of magnum boots that I have.
Working as a Hazmat technician I am in them all day every day of work. The extra padding on the tongue and sides helps when on uneven ground. I have added speed zips to the boots as I may need to change to full hazmat boots. Th composite plate gives extra piece of mind on the construction site. These are one of the best boots that I have worn in the last 12 years at this job.

Elite Force 8.0 WPi Size 12 **Week 2 Review**

I have now officially broken into the boots and am starting to feel the benefits. Last night I was out walking around varied terrain, through fields, uneven roads/paths, up and down steps and most of all in the thick of snow.
I was amazed, genuinely amazed at how dry my feet were and how warm. I have worn other boots that claim to keep you feet warm in the cold and never really did so. These boots did not let me down, whilst I was searching for someone, getting concerned to the weather conditions, I genuinely said to myself "These boots are bloody good and warm"
The boots have become very comfortable, almost like having trainers on, but with added comfort and cosy.
I am extremely impressed with the waterproof of the boot. Again plenty of boots claim to be waterproof but must not be to a high quality, where as these boots, probably helps with the comfort and heat. The snow just fell of my boots, where as my colleagues were building up and becoming colder. The water, having stood in a few inch puddles, did not even bother the boots, and as soon as I pulled my foot out of the puddle the boot looked bone dry.
Along with the waterproof texture, the maintanence of the boot is second to none. I had mood on my boots, very small bits whereas my previous boots would be caked in them. The dirt does not tend to stick, and just falls off, the very little mark that did, wiped straight off without any problem and was instantly clean again.

So far I am very impressed, I am becoming more impressed as the weeks go on and as the boots are being tested more.
Would I recommend these boots - Yes!

More reviews to follow to see if the boots keep raising the bar!

Free Boots?? Magnum Ion-Mask

I was lucky enough to be selected as an Official Field Tester and was offered a completely free pair of Magnum Ion-Mask Boots.

I have to admit that I was a little sceptical as to why anyone was going to send me a completely free pair of boots!

I was convinced by the nice man at Magnum, and a few days later the delivery man delivered me by brand new boots!

1st impressions..

A very nice looking, lightweight tactical boot. Well built, as to be expected with Magnum. I did have a slight concern, that due to their panelled leather build that they were going to be difficult to get a good polish shine on them.

I was excited to get to work and try the boots out. I did struggle at first to get them tied to the right comfort, but after a few attempts I soon got the level and putting the boots on became second nature.

So.. I was impressed with the boots from day one. Most definately one of the most comfortable pairs of lightweight boots I've ever worn. I've worn these boots daily at work over 10 hour shifts and have never been let down by them.

Over the past few months we've had some extreme weather what with the floods and snow, and the Ion-Mask boots have done me proud. It's very reassuring to know that you don't have to worry about your feet getting wet, and just get on with the job.

A few months later, and I have nothing bad to say about the boots. Arguably the best lightweight waterproof tactical boot on the market. And an important quality as a frontine officer, a quiet sole. No longer do I have to worry that when sneeking up on groups or houses that they are going to hear me coming!

So.. The Big Question..

Would I recommend them to my friends and colleagues?

In a word.. Definately!

Comfortable, Lightweight Waterproof boots that allow me to get on with the job without having to worry about avoiding puddles so that my feet don't get wet.

And my initial concern about polishing them.. not a problem. A good sized toe box on them means that they will nicely bull up for those important Court Trials or Awards Ceremonies..

Magnum Elite II - A new generation.

When my Magnum Classic boots needed to be replaced after 2 and half years of service. I needed a boot that could go that long and more and offer the same realiability and protection that the classic had. It was berween the Spider and the Elite II.

My decision was made for me by the company of which i purchased the boots. After sending the wrong ones in the post, I recieved the Magnum Elite II. All I have to say about that company is Thank you.

These boots are the new generation of boots. They have everything that the classic had and more. With a new lacing system that ment that i could put on the boots and lace up within a matter of seconds and they actually feel as if they are part of your foot. They still have the comfort factor with built in Thermo-Dri Insulation to keep my foot from smelling (something that comes with certain boots. Non of them magnum.) It also keeps my foot dry with its Breathable Sympatex Membrane Constuction.

The one problem that accord with the classic was the wearing of the sole, something that i am glad to say has not happened with the elite boot and still after nearly 3years of realiable service it is still as if they are brand new.

Magnum Classic - A great Starter boot.

Starting off as a Police Community Support officer 5 years ago, I decided to invest in a pair of Magnum Classic Boots. I was informed that these would be reliable, and up to the task of spending 80% of my duty time on the streets.

I was not to be disapointed. They kept my feet warm and dry and they were extremely comfortable throughout my shift at work. They looked smart and were an ideal starting boot for the job that I do.

The one problem I had was the wearing down of the sole, which seemed to happen rather quickly, but this didn't affect the overall feel and comfort of the boot and made it to two and half years of sevice before being replaced.

Magnum ELITE II 8

I just bought brand new Magnum ELITE boots and I must say that they are just what I have expected. Before I bought them I had Magnum Regular boots and I must say that ELITE II have better lacing system, are even more comfortable, have better protection (mine ELITE II are Protective ISO20345 S3 Certified), and they offer more support to the leg. Despite their sturdy look and feeling they perform very good and when worn they are maneuverable. I cant say about their durability, since I haven't got the time to wear the out and I am quite sure that I will need a long time to wear them out. As far as the lacing system goes, I like the fast lacing system, because you just pull and tie the laces and you are done. They are definitely worth the price.

Magnum Elite Force WPi The Shield

Back again. Another review for a separate type of boots.

I was lucky enough to trial a pair of Magnum Shields, the public order type version of the WPi boot. I wore them for 3 shifts last week to break them in to see how they felt. I was extremely surprised to say the least. When they are taken out the box, they look like an extremely sturdy boot, as you would expect. When i put them on my feet they felt much the same as the Elite Force but still had that rugged, secure feeling you would expect from a PO boot.

Walking around in them felt great and gave me no problems whatsoever. There has been a great improvement on the laces for the Shields in my opinion. I had a couple of jogs in them just to see how they would feel and again, pleasantly surprised as i could hardly feel them on my feet however they still retain that sturdy feel.

Certainly a boot that i would recommend to anyone wanting to upgrade to an extrememely professional public order boot. Definetly worth the money.

Thanks

Elite Force 8.0 WPi Size 12 **Week 1 Review**

Well, I said I would be honest.............Having worn these for a week now I am impressed!. The first couple of days were 50/50, the boots were uncomfortable where they rested below my calf. It was tender from the thickness of the padding. The padding was hard but can happily say once they are broken in, they softened up and are now very comfortable.
I was obtimistic at first due to the size of them but I have taken a shine to the boots. They have not really been tested fully, but have been used mainly for walking around and general comfort. My feet feel very comfortable, secure and are not tired after a long shift. The inner soles certainly help.
Overall after week one - Very comfortable having needed a few days to settle in, they feel beefy but damn good and feel like they are the 'boss' of boots. When I originally said they looked like space boots, they do, but look normal with the correct trousers, i.e combats. I feel safe in the boots because they are built like a tank and no matter what I walk in, I know it doesn't matter.
I love the strength of the laces, very strong, no messing.
They are breathable and feel right
**So far so good**

Magnum is good

For 2 years i wear Magnum Boots type Protector. There for i wear 20 years the Dutch army boots.
The Magnum boots are much lighter then the Dutch one. And the comfort is also better.
Today i buy the stealth force 8.0 These are matching better using it at my work, i think.
In 3 months i will write a review over this boots.

magnum stealth force 8 boots

Hi'
I have just bought my third pair of magnum boots, this time i bought all leather stealth force 8 boots. They took no breaking in and they fit a treat very light and comfortable.they are also airport friendly as i have to go through a metal detector at work each day it means i can keep my boots on.keep up the great work on the new designs of patrol boots they are the best on the market i would reccomend them to anyone who works for the police/prison or security services.
                                                                            regards

Magnum Classic CEN

I got my first pair of Magnums in May 2007, and instantly loved them.
Before I came across Magnum boots, I had been buying Caterpillar and Stone Creek boots, and going through them every 6 months or so.
I'm VERY hard on my boots!
When I tried on the Magnums, I couldn't believe how light and comfy they were - compared to other boots, it was like wearing nothing at all.
That first pair of boots came with me to 3 festivals (were shoes and boots often die) and were worn everyday for 2 years, usually for over 7 hours at a time, and over distances of at least 5 miles.
Unfortunately the sole began to become very worn down (and quite slippery in wet) so I bought myself a new pair.
They've been to 2 festivals so far, and been worn virtually every day since then.
I don't think I'll ever get boots that aren't Magnums!

Great comfy boot to just put on straight away and use.. Keep feet cool enough in desert conditions. Only criticism is that sole so comfy that if walking on stoney ground you do tend to feel each one.

Stealth Force 6 ct/cp

Hi there, I am currently working in the private medical sector after ten years in the NHS A/E scene.

My first boots were classic CEN boots, comfortable and hard wearing. Although extremley slippery when encountering wet hospital floors as seemed to lose all grip and was like walking on sheet ice sometimes but apart from that really good boots, and still going after 20 years! so much so I sold them for ?20.00!

Now wearing Stealth Force 6 ct/cp boots, these were initiallyy stiff on the first two days around heel and top of boot, on day three no longer stiff and a joy to wear. Easy to get on and off - unlike the original CENs which took ages!

Looking to try out the Magnum insole with these new boots and the quick release zip if there is one for these boots, although in fairness the Stealth Force 6 doesn't need a zip as easy to get on/off.

One thing I have noticed is that the leather seems to mark very easily which makes bulling the boots a pain when the leather scuffs so easy, apart from that nothing else to report at this stage

My favorite pair of boots

Four years ago I bought a pair of 8" magnum force boots; they were originally intended to be my boots for going to the gym, because I hate shoes. After breaking them in and going to the gym a few times, I ended up having to rush out of the house a few times, throwing my comfy MF boots on. Got a job where I needed to stand and walk around alot. The boots were slightly uncomfortable, so I bought some gel insoles, not a problem. I could wear them all day in summer without my feet getting too hot, or being uncomfortable. I further tested my boots by attending a local car show that lasted saturday and sunday. I went both days, and never had a problem with my boots. Come winter, I was still wearing them, but the zipper broke on one boot broke, so I got it replaced, once again, no more problems!
The only advice I have for your magnum boots; toss in a gel insole if they get uncomfortable, you'll be glad you did. Be careful how you pull up the zipper, or it might break. If you tie them often instead of using the zipper, head to the local army surplus and get a pair of laces made from nylon paracorde. These laces will take years to break, and even then you can melt the ends, press them together, and fixed for a long time until you can get another pair.
I give the magnum force boots an 8 out of 10.
-1 point for the uncomfortable insole once the boots are broken in.
-1 for the zipper break

Elite Force 8.0 WPi Size 12

First impressions;
First Impressions were that they seemed like space boots. The heels/Soles appear chuncky. There is plenty of padding especially around the ankle which I like. The laces appear very strong so good to see that these wont snap in a hurry.

Boots On;
I had plenty of room inside to breathe, there is adaquate support for the ankle area. I am used to the mid length boots so I had protection well above the ankle. These cover the ankle well and are very well padded, which I believe will help when using your foot on the pedals in the car, giving you room to move.

Laces;
The laces feed through nicely on lace loops, when I say this, I mean they don't get snagged or jammed and when you pull them, they tighten. Souds stupid I know but I have had plenty of Magnums where you pull the laces to tighten and they get jammed on the many lace loops.

Grip;
The grip looks damn good! I am impressed with the grip that goes up the back of the heel. Why? Think about when your driving and its been raining or you have been outside in a puddle, the heel of the boot is the first thing that slips and when your driving at speed, you have no time for errors caused by slippery boots. So its good to see these have been added. The sole is designed by VIBRAM which are known world leaders in high performance when it comes to soles and grips. Its reassuring to see these 2 great companies have teamed together. As always the sole is oil & slip resistant.

Overall
Pro's -
Impressive, breatheable and strong

Con's
Bulky, higher sole, appear to look like space boots.
******************************************************

Above review is based on initial views and comfort. Further reviews will start on how the boots perform out on the job and their all round performance. Opinions may/will change as the boots are tested.

Magnum Boots Review

I am now on my third pair of magnum boots, and doubt I will ever find another brand that comes close to the quality and durability.
As a Royal Marine for over a decade my boots have travelled more than their fair share of miles, in both urban and rural environments, through dry desserts and over wind swept moors, and never once have they let me down.
If you are looking for a pair of boots that are lightweight, comfortable, reliable and durable in all environments, especially when you need to look after your feet because your survival depends on it, you will struggle to find a better make.

Elite Spider 8.0

I have been wearing the Magnum Elite Spider 8.0 boots for wellover two years, including deployment to Afghanistan. These boots are one of the lightest, most hard wearing boots that i have ever had the pleasure of owning. . Being very durable and lightweight means that you know your feet will be taken care of in any situation. Deployed and during a normal working day my feet remain cool and the flexibility means that it does not feel like im wearing military boots. When it comes to booted runs they perform as trainers and enable my distance and endurance to be extended. The vibram sole means that i do not have a problem when it comes to walking on the most slippery surfaces.

No video - yet; but lots of bad weather!!!!!!!!

In my last review I apologised for not uploading a video; and I'm still sorry - no video with this one either!!

I also hoped for a bit of inclement weather so that I could put my boots through their paces. So, we've had a couple of weeks of ice and snow (up to 18 inches in some parts).
Throughout all of it my feet have stayed warm and dry. As the boots are uninsulated, I was a little concerned that I'd get frostbite and lose toes and things because of the cold, (as most of my colleauges using the uninsulated Patrol boots were constantly complaining of cold/numb toes and feet), I felt warm and comfortable throughout my night shifts; even the one when the temp dropped to minus 15!!!!!!

I'll try and get a video on my next review; or at least a photo!

MAGNUM Elite Force 8.0 WPi

Hi folks,

Just got the great news that i am now an official Field Tester for these wonderful Magnum Elite Force WPi 8.0 and also the Shield edition. I changed over to the Magnums after doing a boot test and review for www.ukpoliceonline.co.uk.

It was the best decision i have made. As soon as the boot comes out the box it looks extremely well made and sturdy. As soon as you put it on, your feet feel very secure, as if the boots are vacumed on! As a police officer, the fact that the boots feel secure around the feet and the ankles is extremely important for me given the fact that we often jump fences, run through fields, rugged terrain etc.

The leather on the Elite Force WPi is also easy to polish up for any duties you perform which need your boots to be sparkling clean. It says alot for the boots also that since i put them on in September, i have not come home from work with my feet feeling wet. Totally and utterly waterproff. The only boot to buyin my opinion.

Thanks,
Pete

Thoroughly Reviewed - Elite II's and Elite Spiders

As a middle manager for the largest Crowd Management Company in Europe, I've had plenty of chances to put my Magnum boots throught their paces. From manning the doors of licensed premises to leading Incident Response Teams at major outdoor festivals, they have always been dependable and never once let me down.

My first pair of Elite II Leather/Nylon boots were a blessing after trialling much heavier British Military all leather counterparts. The boots took no breaking in time whatsoever, felt light and comfortable from the word 'go', and yet offered the kind of support one would expect from a high leg tactical boot. Importantly for my job, they look smart under trousers but offer an impressive set of features. The Vibram soles are comfortable and flex with the movement of your feet. They grip well in most conditions, and I've only ever fallen twice while running to incidents in a nightclub that is notorious for its slippery dancefloor! They are excellent for driving in as well, even when the whelts are clogged with mud from festival campsites. They are easy to clean and maintain, being mostly leather, and I can vouch for the waterproof membrane living up to expectations, having had my feet partially submeged for several hours in British summer downpours. In summary, as tough as the military's finest, but without the weight and discomfort.

I bought the Elite Spiders reluctantly, as I had wanted a second (spare) pair of Elite II's. My decision was mainly prompted by the need for a pair for smart indoor use, and another pair for heavy duty outdoor festivals. The Elite II's were versatile and worked in both, but unfortunately I couldn't keep up with them in terms of cleaning them at short notice!

For anyone working in security/door supervision with no risk of foot deep mud or torrential rain one day after the next, I'd thorougly recommend the Spiders. What they lack in waterproof membrane, they more than make up for in other areas. They are lighter than I thought was possible, and at first I was concerned that they wouldn't be able to take the punishment of my work activities. Once again Magnum, you've proven me wrong. The Vibram sole is exceptional. It feels more like a running shoe than a boot and I am 100% confident that my grip is secure on any surface, even when moving at speed and changing direction. They are covered in holes and vents to let your feet breath, and if they do get wet, they'll dry much quicker than boots with a membrane. They are a little more difficult to polish due to the ventilated areas but this is nit picking really. I also found that they took a little getting used to for driving in at first. The soles are that well cushioned I couldn't feel the pedals! Despite their light weight the Spiders offer superp protection and stability, with thick padding and scuff pads in all the right places on the outside of the boot. I have occasionaly even had to kick through toilet cubicle doors and they offered superior shock absorbtion in this role. They are easy to lace and quick to get on and off. Although they look a little strange and 'modern' in the pictures, they have served me well on more formal occasions under a pair of trousers. the leather on the toe and heel polishes up nicely. I managed to convince a few of my colleagues to buy a pair and I'm sure it's no coincidence that we are always the first in attendance when there is a crowd disturbance. All in all a great pair of boots for those whom hold speed of movement and comfort in high regard, and who mostly work in a dryish/indoor environment. I'm actually so impressed with mine that I intend to buy a sand coloured pair for when I'm not working to wear with my jeans.

Hopefully, the new Ion Shield technology will combine the best attributes of both these boots, by offering super light weight and protection from the elements at the same time. This has to be the way forward, and I look forward to getting myself a pair when I eventually wear out my Spiders (which should take a while).

I hope this useful to anyone thinking about purchasing some top notch gear. Thanks again Magnum, keep up the good work!

Fireman/EMT

Currently I work on a fire department (22 years) and as a National Certified EMT (14 years). On a day to day basis, I put the Magnum boots through a rigerous workout ranging from rescues in ditches to standing or walking through wooded areas on searches in SE Minnesota. The Magnum boots are constanly put through water, mud and fire debris. I think that I would be an excellent candidate to test your boots on situations that normal people would not normally be in. Thank you for your time and consideration.

Fusionable

The Magnum Boot is the most perfect and advance technologie that man has been able to combine in all century. Its the best and only fusion that the human body can accept and get confort with, as when one has fitted into, its no hustle, doesn't disturb, and practically forms part of the whole body mass without affecting the performance of the person wether walking, running at great speed nor halting suddenly, thus in one word unbeatable. But will be as perfect and performance to the upmost only if it is properly fitted.

Phantom 8

I bought TWO pairs of Magnum Phantom 8 boots a year and a half ago. I liked the first pair, so one good pair deserves another. I use them at both my Security and Law Enforcement jobs. In the summer, my feet sweat pretty bad in them, so I switched pairs daily so they wouldn't start to smell. That plan worked out quite well.

I'm also a runner, so I like to be on my feet. I put boots to the test. I also prefer a lighter boot, and these are surprisingly light for a boot.

The positive aspects of these boots are that they are light, durable (except for the zippers), and look great. We have cold winters here in Wisconsin, so it was also nice these boots kept my feet very warm. If you live in a cold climate, or plan on using another boot for the summer, these would be good for you.

The negative aspects are they don't breathe, so your feet get hot, especially when they're new. I am also down to only one pair since the zippers on one of the left and one of the right ones broke. I immediately ordered some Magnum Spider 8.0 boots in case any more zippers break. The only signs of wear are small holes on the rear of the ankles where the canvas is sewn to the leather.

Overall though, good boots. That's why I went with Magnum again.

Magnum Classics....what a classic!!

Brought a pair of Magnum Classics for ?65 from a military surplus store just before I joined as a Special Constable in 2007. Lightweight, durable with stylish looks and very hardy - these boots have kicked in doors, been through water and oil, climbed fences and run a long way. Nearly three years on, I still wear the same pair daily in my other job and find them more comfortable than traditional shoes. Discreet when worn under trousers but of menacing appearance when in tac trousers, they are suitable for any situation. Regularly polished to keep them looking their best, they have never failed me. Time may nearly be upon me for buying a new pair but these have certainly served me well.

Magnum Elite Spider 8.0 Leather

Hi,

I bought this boot about a year ago, and despite the fact that it has been exposed to hard labour, it still remains whole. I have used it for running in difficult terrain, construction work and for regular walking.
This boot keeps being comfortable for all sort of use! It is extremely flexible, yet stabilizing. It doesn't matter if the weather is dry or wet, because this boot is water resistant.

To conclude, this is a tough boot that can handle all sorts of jobs!

Regards,

Great brand with comfort

I wear my magnums when i'm working, they have helped with staying clean, comfortable and durable.
They help by keeping my feet dry, clean and since i'm on my feet the whole day.
Other boots i have tried inm the past have been very heavy and dont last as long

Would never choose anything else to wear.

best boots

I bought the Spider 2 elite and was really suprised at how light they were. i mainly use these boots for PT because they are so light and durable. being in the infantry the PT is very arduous and fully puts boots to the test. the other thing i really liked about them was the price. compared to other boots i found that these was by far the cheapest without compramising quality.

Ambulance Technician (Magnum hi boots)

I wear magnum boot for my everyday work, and I can not express how well these boots have given my feet and ankles support and protection through out 4 years of service and wear. I have tested them on ice, snow, rain, during heat waves and across country side terrain. I would recommend Magnum hi boots to everyone.

Magnum Elite II CT & CP

I've just got my Magnums today and I'm already impressed, the boot is super comfy to wear straight out of the box so i imagine they will be amazing once worn in a bit. The Vibram sole gives great grip especially in the icy conditions at the moment and keeps my feet toasty warm and dry.

I'm sure they will last for all of the Duke of Edinburgh's and walks to come (:

Magnum elite spiders

Quite possibly the best pair of boots iv ever had. They are extremely comfortable, requiring very little wearing in. The soles are anti slip and provide excellent grip on any surface, and no matter what kind of a mess i get onto i can guarantee my feet are always dry and warm in these boots. Unlike other manufacturers iv tried, magnum boots have never let me down and the elites are definitely the top of the range. Easy to clean and shine, dont smell, always comfy. what more do you want from a pair of boots?
Would recommend these to anyone, especially if you have the kind of job that requires a lot of walking.

Ideal for the job

When getting these boots I was thinking they look bulky and uncomfortable. Since wearing them during my training and out on patrol I have found them to be the ideal footwear. I was worried that they would slow me down for foot chases but this is totally different, they just feel so right for running and support your heel so well.

magnums pro-tector

i bought these boots for work as i get great ankle support and comfort.
they are steel toe cap boots but yet not at all heavy and its very easy to go about my job in comfort. norml boots tend to really hurt my feet after 12 hours of walking around but magnums are so durable it feels like i have almost had comfortable slippers on all day. i reccomend to anyone who needs safety footwear and comfort.

Magnum Elite Spider 8.0

These boots are the most comfortable boots i have every owned. I wear them regularly at Cadets and have walked 26 miles in them, brand new, not broken in, and didn't get a single blister. On this walk, my feet stayed comfortable and cool until the end. They are easy to put on and supportive when you wear them. The only bad points i have about them is that they're not waterproof, but if they were they wouldn't be as efficient at keeping cool. They're brilliant for road walking and expeditions, but not anything where there'd be a big puddle.

Boots

Well the boots which i were issued we very good i used them for a group which is called the conbined cadet force. This involves me being part of a functioning Devision of RAF cadets but i also participated with army field exersises.
The boots were very versitile with a strong heal which is very good for walking through a rough enviroment like the altcar ranges which a potholed etc.
At one point in my training i trod on razor wire as it was an obsticle and i was fully protected.
But these boots are not only good as a combat book they are also great for the fact when it came ot parade day iwas able to shine them for use as a smart shoe!
i really enjoy wearing magnum boots Top Quality!

Magnum Ion-Mask

I recivied my pair of Ion Mask boots a couple of weeks ago. I obviously did the obligatory water test - just like the other reviewers videos!

I wore them to work the next day, without breaking them in first, and without any problems!

Over the past four weeks I have worn the Ion-Mask for all of my shifts as a paramedic, and found them exceptionally comfortable, even when driving. They have not creased as much as the patrol boots have done (even my 2nd pair with the insoles), and they have stayed clean. I have wiped them down with some warm water and a soft cloth, but have not polished them; as I dont want to damage the coating.

If Magnum ever produce the Ion-Mask boots with a protective toe-cap, conforming to the same safety standards as the Patrol ST boot then they would be ideal for my role within the Coastguard Rescue Service.

I will post a video review in the New Year - with any luck the weather will be awful (so I can put the boots through their paces!!!!)

Have a Happy Christmas and enjoy the New year!!!!!

2 months into my testing

So far I am extremely impressed with the new Elite Force Wpi boots. I've now had them for 2 months and so far the main benefits I have found are:

- Extremely comfortable
- Waterproof
- Good ankle support
- Excellent tread/grip
- Light weight
- Easy clean
- No need to break them in

It will be cool if Magnum introduce this technology into their boots that have a side zip, as I know a lot of friends who like boots with a zip.

Magnum Stealth Force

These boots are high quality, waperproof and warm. The only compaint i can muster is that some of the little grey rubber grips have come off the sole. This however is not surprising considering that these boots are worn everyday at work on average for 13 hours a day in all weather conditions.
Overall a great boot for work and everyday use.

Stealth Force 8.0

I have been using Magnum Boots since 2007. Previous to these I used other leading brands but decided to try Magnum based on the positive remarks from colleagues. In 2008 I got my first pair of Stealth Force 8.0 boots. Immediately I noticed these were exceptionally comfy out of the box with no break in required. Whilst they are now starting to show slightly signs of wear (after over a year of daily use) they have lasted the test of time when previous boots lasted up to 6 months just.

Magnum boots

I have been issued with magnums for several years now, usually Patrol boots but once Elite Spider. The patrol are very slippy on hard wet or polished surfaces, even safety surfaces EXCELLENT on mud/snow etc. The spider was better but the Zip failed before the boot became worn out. Still the most comfortable footwear I have had for many years, easy to 'break in' (just put them on - done!) but very wary about anti slip properties.

I've been wearing my Police issued Magnum patrol boots for a couple of years and have generally been really satisfied. However I've found the soles to tend to be liable to slipping.
Original Magnums

I bought the original Magnum style boots 2 months ago after my last pair of boots died. I owned a pair of originals back in the day and wanted to see how far they had advanced over the years. At first it was hard to get them on having got used to the side zip for so many years. One main thing I found is that even with the advancements in the new style boots the originals have pretty much been left "as is". I guess the saying "if its not broke" comes into mind but because of this I found myself having to break the boots in which was a shock. After a few days of this however they now fit me like a glove and I wear them on a daily basis at work. Working as a security officer they get some mileage and feel good. They handle the changing underfoot environments fairly well and are fairly warm and comfy. I also once a month play a sport called Airsoft which is basically a grown up version of paintball without the mess and more for ex forces types. I've worn the boots for the past few games and they have stood up amazingly. The areas I play in go from hard urban areas to dense woodland with brambles and rivers and mud all the way to desert style quarries and have come out begging for more.
If you’re on a budget and want a pair of boots that will last these will do you nicely

Magnum Elite Spider 8.0

Most comfortable Boot ever. Work in Canada and the weather is harsh.Had a pair of 5.11 and they didn't last 6 months . Bought these a year ago, and everything is still the way it should be with the regular wear . Very supportive boot, but the lightness is where this boot shines. Work 10-14 hour days and my feet never hurt. No break in period. Just put them on and hit the road. Great product. Will definately be buying another pair whenever these retire.......................

I'm a firearms officer with the Met, and have been wearing Magnums since training school. A couple of years back I tried the new spider elites, very comfy but ultimately one boot split along a seam.
I elected to stay with magnum and since July 09 have been wearing Stealth force low boots.
These are the full leather version and have been out on patrol in weather fair and foul. The boots needed no wearing in at all and have been supremely comfy from day one.
The laces have not frayed and as yet no wear is showing on the soles. In fact, apart from the creases in the leather they look almost new.
The boots do get a little warm on a summers day but now the winter is here my feet are toasty! They are fine for running in and have remained dry throughout a couple of serious downpours.
All in all a great boot that I would recommend to anyone ( and do to collegues).
Bring on the snow!!

Elite Spider 8.0

I am a Police Dog handler and so need strong supportive boots that are light weight. Difficult to find such a pair of boots. However having bought a pair of Elite spider 8's i think i found the answer. They provide everything i could want for a summer boot. Good ankle support and grippy soles.

Why are they so good?

Pacing round on your feet 8 hrs a day in a very hot prison, can often lead to a number of foot problems, from odours to blisters. Not with these boots, breathable and flexible they are as comfortable as trainers with the durability of hard wearing boot. Can't recommend them enough

Magnum Original CEN Boots Review

I have been a Police Officer for 28 years. I originally used to wear Dr Martin boots, but since discovering the Magnum boot, I wear nothing else. I find the Magnum boot is the most comfortable boot on the market from the first time you wear it, it feels like you have worn them for years. My role now involves a lot of standing still in all weathers and having a decent comfortable pair of boots is imperative. My son has also recently joined the Police Service and after my recommendation has purchased a pair for himself. I have a further 2 years of service to perform and fully intend to continue to the end of my service wearing Magnum boots.

Life in a pair of Magnum Classics

I bought my Magnum Classics in the early part of 2007 to use in my new role as a Special Constable. Naturally, the first few months I had them for, they were only used at weekends and the odd night in the week. I was only a Special Constable for 6 months but during that time, the boots served me well. They went with me on marches, normal foot patrol, class room training, muddy fields, flooded roads and many more places besides. From the first day I wore them, they were like gloves. There was no need to break them in as they were so comfortable.
The reason I left the special constabulary was that I had joined the force as a full time regular officer.
The first 6 months of 2008 were spent sat in a classroom, and I wore the boots every day. They were easy to bull into a gloss like shine, and easy to wear all day.
Since mid 2008 I have been pounding the beat every day, still wearing my trusty Magnum's. In that time, I have walked through rain, sleet, snow, and glorious sunshine and they have not let me down once. 12 hour shifts in a busy city are no problem to my feet (they tire me out but the feet are ok). Maybe I am lucky or maybe its the boots but my feet seem to breathe well and there are no issues with foot odour.
Over the past 18 months I have scaled walls, fences, run through muddy and flooded fields, chased suspects on all terrains wearing my full kit including body armour, belt kit, hat etc and still have managed to catch the suspect who is invariably wearing trainers and tracksuit. This is mainly thanks to the boots on my feet. They are easy to walk or run in.
They come with me on early morning raids, the adrenaline is going, its early, dark, and there is a team of us sneaking up to the door. You could hear a pin drop...suddenly a bang, the door crashes through, and there are 6 to 8 pairs of feet running through the now broken front door..."POLICE" - "STAY WHERE YOU ARE"...thump thump thump up the stairs and 20 seconds after the first bang, all the suspects are secured.
It doesn't matter what the job is or where it is, the Magnum's do it all......

After this length of time, the grip is starting to wear a little but they are still as comfy as the day I got them. The only thing I will ever replace them with is another pair of Magnums...

Magnum Stealth Force 8's

I had the pleasure to buy myself some Magnum Stealth Force 8's earlier this year, as I joined as a Police Officer in my local area.

I had previously served as a Special Constable for the same force for around 8 years, and in that time, I had always used Magnum boots because of their known reliabilty and support, especially around the ankle areas, which is of absolute paramount to me.

Going back to the stealth force 8's, I don't think there is anything bad I can write about them. I have worn them every day for the last 18 weeks during training, and have nothing but praise for them.

First of all, unlike some other brands of boots that I have worn in the past, there has been absolutely no need to "break" them in at all; it simply has been a case of put them on and go about my daily routine.

Even after wearing them solidly for 8-12 hours a day, my feet still feel great, not wet and clammy like other boots can leave you feeling, and certainly not sore or uncomfortable, no chafing of heels, getting that tell-tale blister afterwards.

The only downside is that these boots are not rated as waterproof, after all, you can't have your cake and eat it.. or can you?

I also like the fact that the soles are extremely quiet when walking around, meaning that if you're out on a job somewhere and "stealth" is the key to a successful arrest.. no more squeaky approach!!

There is absolutely no doubt in my mind that these boots will ever let me down whilst serving on the front line, and have no hesitation in recommending these to anyone else serving on the frontline, or even in places such as custody centres or for our counterparts in the security services or private security industry.

Stealth Force 8.0 Boots

Firstly these offer brilliant support, I have had 8" boots before but nothing of this kind. These are cushioned so well and dont put any strain around the lower leg which is a bliss. The heel of the boot is designed to help when driving and boy did they get it right! it feels like you foot is on holiday the away the heel rests, and the boot itself locks your heel in securley, but gives so much room for the rest of the foot, which makes it more breathable! With the weather in the last few days being warn, I have yet to take them off and find my foot warn or even sweaty. I took them off today and they were bone dry, they are waterproof and so far I am made up. Definately recommend these so far. Will continue to update, got some public order lined up for Saturday night so will see how they do chopping and changing.

Magnum leather boots

I'm a Security K-9 Handler, and have been for 17yrs. I'm 110kg's and work 6-7 nights per week for 12-14hr shifts in a variety of weather conditions.
I've worn Magnum's since 1997 and have never worn another brand in that time. I've been through 12 pairs of what I call the "old style" Magnum's which didn't have the suede on the heel of the boots. All pairs of these styles cracked and split on this exact point.
I've been wearing my current Magnum all leather side-zip boots now since July 2006. I can honestly say for a heavy person my boots are only just now needing replacement. Considering the hours I work and not to mention the fact I have a 50kg Rottweiler who loves to stand on my boots as well plus the extreme rain I work in at times these boots have been sensational!
It was great to see Magnum listned to customers feedback in regards to the "old style" heel issue and redevelope the boots to include a more flexible suede section to stop the boots wearing out at this point.
This is the first pair of many Magnum's I've owned where I have literally worn the soles off my boots. Considering I work 6-7 nights a week and always for 12-14hr shifts and wearing these boots since July 2006 it's simply credit to the boots design and craftsmanship.
The boots always polish up perfectly, they are not hot to wear, and they are comfortable right out of the box, so there is no need for a break in period
My only negative comment is that they are slippery on some surfaces in the wet.

Magnum simply the best

I own a pair of magnum stealth force and i must admit these are the best boots i have ever owned. I walk for miles and my boots want to walk some more. I run after baddies and my boots make me run even faster. They are like walking on air and i have to check that i have actually got them on as they are so comfortable i need to constantly look. They look smart and always come up shining and gleaming when i give them a well earned clean. I know they look good and make me look good, so i must admit they simply are the best.

Magnum Elite

I am an Ambulance Emergency Care Practitioner; I own several pairs of work boots with the service insisting that we wear safety boots. I am currently wearing a pair of Magnum Elite CT boots. They are excellent however a little heavy but good for driving in and warm in winter. My only gripe with them is that I have a narrow foot and they are quite a wide fit. The leather around the CT has creased easily and is not wearing well. If the width issue and creasing around the toe was looked at these would be an excellent good looking safety boot ideal for ambulance use. I am looking forward to the new line of boots

Magnum Classics

I have been wearing Magnum Classic boots since my first tour of Bosnia way back in 1994, why you may ask? It is that I feel they are the best at what they do. I have left the army now but I run a paintball site called Action Paintball, here in the UK. I have now found a new use for the boots due to their light weight and durability I am now using them for playing paintball and have recommended them to many of my marshalls.

Magnum Stealths in Action

In the morning I slip on my old steel toe Magnums, ye olde faithfuls. I start my day, walk what seems like a thousand miles and go home. On the way home I see in a shop window a Magnum boot. These are not my boots I am wearing; these are Magnum Stealths. I buy them and await the difference.
The innersole is improved making ventilation better. The composite toe and plate give sturdy protection. The new grip is as good as ever. The cut around the leg ensures comfort on the 12 hour shifts and if you keep them polished they're great in water and will last a long time.
As with any glowing review there has to be a criticism and I have two; firstly the laces. I have replaced the laces as they broke on me after two months of daily use. Secondly the inner soles came loose about the same time, which can be annoying having to adjust everytime you put them on. However, despite this, I wear them daily and would rate them overall 8.5 out of 10

magnum elite 2

Im currently wearing a pair of magnum elite2/ all leather. ive been wearing them every working day for a year and they are extremely good. they are still strong and have no leather splitting at the bend before the toes. The flexible calf section allows me to have maximum flexibility. I am about to buy a second pair of boots exactly the same, the only reason why im replacing them is the sole is starting to wear down.

Original CEN Magnum Boots

I have worked within the police service for just over three years now. From the day I started I bought myself a cheap pair of magnums thinking it would just get me started until I decided where I wanted to specialise and what boot would suit me better. However, I am still wearing the same pair of boots! They are extremely comfortable and I have had no problems with them whatsoever! I was issued with a pair of boots for a difference role which I have only worn once, nothing compares to my magnums.

It is certainly awell renowned brand and half of the people I come across within my line of work all wear magnums. If i visit security firms, 9/10 security guards also have a pair on. To have sold this many boots must mean they are doing something right.

Unfortunately after having a few chases and rolls on the floor mine are starting to get a bit scratched so I will be investing in a new pair soon as mine don't look as smart as they used to. Fantastic boots, will certainly be sticking to magnums in the future!

Magnum Elite Spider 8.0 Review Amazing Boots

These are proberebly the best things to hug my feet Ever.
I bought these boots as I'm in Mountain Rescue & I love them. They're light, flexible, comfortable & I haven't had one blister since I bought them. I started training in different boots & got terrible blisters so the relief when I first put these on was pretty intense. Also these Great Boots. The New Vibram sole is a peach. It has a very grippy look, much like a pair of climbing boots, making it idea for rough ground but it is also quite sticky, like a trainer, making it idea for indoor use too and after 6 weeks of use I see no sign of wear, which suggests it will be a long wearing sole too.
In short If your think about replacing your worn Boots I would recommend you buy the Spiders

Elite Spider 8.0

Am on second pair of these boots now, first ones the soul started to peel away, and were exchanged, as they were under warranty.

The boots are very supportive, have recently done a large amount of soft tissue damage to my ankle, and they are so supportive, there is no pain with them strapped up, but pain in another style of footwear. Even though they are supportive, they dont feel cumbersome or heavy.

Have worn these boots before as a door supervisor, and they kept my feet warm, dry, and they werent aching after being stood on them all night.

Elite spiders

I bought a pair of elite spider boots last year on line. For the short time I had them it was a kin to wearing a cross between a pair of old & comfy shoes & a pair of socks. In all honesty, there were times when I literally had to look at my feet to ensure that infact I was wearing the boots as they were so utterly comfortable. I used them from everything from battle runs to absailing to playing sports in the gym as they were so utterly versatile in both their design, flexability & adaptability. I say owned them...whilst earning a well deserved stand down I awoke to find that they had been stolen from my feet so utterly desporate was some ones need to also experience their comfort.

Spider Elites

Well, i got these for about ?65 i think from Hendon Training School just before passing out parade and they are the lightest boots i have ever had. Should have called them Magnum Heliums. Very comfortable and they look good. Unfortunately they squeak too much when i walk on lino flooring and in court so its annoying and a dead give-away if one is trying to go silent.
These boots do not appear to bull so well, i was hoping for the "black glass effect" that can be achieved with parade shoes.

The boots are porous to good ventilation is not a problem. They don't fare so well in heavy rain though so summer is probably when they will shine best (no pun intended).

A good starting boot i think.

Magnum Elite Force 8.0 WPi Boots

I have been wearing the Magnum Elite Force 8.0 WPi boots for about 2 months now and they are without a doubt the most comfortable boots I have worn in the 9 years that I have served with the army.

The leather is very soft and flexible, yet extremely resillient to the elements and chemicals. I usually have trouble with the arches of my feet due to them being slightly collapsed, but found the inner soles of this boot to be of a very high quality offering a lot of protection and support, thus requiring me not to replace them with the orthotic inner soles I have been prescribed by my physio.

Not only have the boots ticked all the boxes for me from an aesthetical point of view, they have also surpassed my expectations with regards the robustness and quality of them.

I am commpeting Tough Guy on the 31 Jan 10 and then undergoing the extremely arduous All Arms Commando Course in spring 2010. I will wear the Elite Force 8.0 WPi for both as I have every confifdence in the boot and know it will not let me down.

Magnum Stealth Force 8

Been wearing these boots for a few months now, in all types of weather conditions (apart from snow!). Found them very comfortable, so no need for "breaking in" especially useful to those who are not used to wearing boots. Easy to clean, lightweight and hard wearing, also good value for money. An excellent purchase.

elite II

The most comfortable, grippy and lightest safe boots i've ever worn. as i suffer from some arthitis in my feet 'comfortable' is quite an achievement.
on my second pair after the right of my first saved my right foot toes when several tonns of stage tower landed on it.... after 14 months of daily wear.
love the flexable anti-penetration sole insert, i climb regularly when working, having a sole that is grippy, flexable and protective makes a real, tangerble difference to almost every workday.
thank you magnum.

Great Boot I have used for a range of activities. Mainly field exercises, in which they've coped well in all weathers. I used the same pair to complete the Nijmegen 100 mile marches without getting one blister. All in all a brilliant product.

Magnum Stealth leather

When I was looking for good light tactical boots, I found Magnum marking, that hadn't been well-known in my country - the Czech republic at that time (5 years ago).
I found that it is a trademark of Hi-tec company, so I bought a pair of Stealth Leather boots. I was really satisfied, because these boots were awesome.
They were very comfortable and lightweight. It was exactly what I was looking for. I use them for my outdoor activities, training at shooting range and parachuting.
They probably saved my ankles during my first drop, which was quite hard.
Wearing them, the original laces started to unbind and I had to secure them by duct tape. They were made from synthetic fire-resistant material,
so I swap them for cotton ones.
During mountain-climbing course I scratched the front part of the boots. So my recommendation for next improvement is,
that the front leather part of the boot could be from abrasive and scuff resistant material.
After my good experiences with this boots, lot of my friends from the army and police bought them and wear them on their duty.
After 5 years of using this boots, the footbed where is the heel is damaged and the leather on the toe and on the back of the boot is really scratched.
Nowadays I use them only for short time training on shooting-range or CQB.
Three months ago I bought a new pair of Stealth Leather boots. It is the newer version but was for better price then the older one. And it cheered me up a lot!
The upper part of the boot and the back, where the Achilles' heel is, is made of chamois leather and the laces look better.
I can highly recommend this product and also all of my friends are satisfied with Hi-Tec products, especially with Magnum trademark.

Elite Spider 8.0 Leather/Nylon

I have tried many different types of boot from Oakley, Catapila and finally Hi-tec. I have 3 different pairs of hi-tec magnums for different occassions but the boot i've been most impressed with so far is the Elite Spider 8.0 Leather/Nylon. The boot itself is very comfortable even matching comfort to trainers. Being a police officer the boots I wear need to be durable for everyday use and to combat all scenarios. These boots have done that for me, and would highly recommend the Magnum range.

Magnum Boots - Elite II 8.0 WP Leather

I have never owned such comfortable yet tough boots. I have a pair of Elite II 8.0 WP Leather that I walk 5-10 miles a wek in and they never rub or cause sores (i walk for outside youth work but have used these boots for hill walking too with the same results). The build quality is excelent, the flex is just right and the boot sides have enough flex but are still very supportive. Also, I've been out in some very wet conditions and the boots have never leaked.

Stealth Force Boots

Firstly, i shall talk about the comfort of these boots. I previously had a pair of magnums for cadets, and when i lost them (moving house, mum might have thrown them out) i decided to get Magnums again.. why? because in the years of scouts and cadets when ive gone hiking, paintballing and a whole load of other activities, i have worn Magnums, and they were damn comfy! they feel like they are just a part of your feet!
I use my boots about once a week when I go paintballing, and then i go to the lake district for a week, about twice a year, and wear them then too.
When it comes to running around in the mud, they will support your ankle a lot, hell i once jumped about 18ft out of a tree with these beasts on, and didnt hurt my ankles at all.
And when im rambling up hills in the lakes, they are great, no rubbing, no hot spots, just pure comfyness (is that a word?)
I can once remember racing my friends down a scree covered slope in the lakes, and beat them by a mile, because my ankles were fine on all that scree!
These boots are awesome, they are hard wearing, and after the years of service that they will offer, i shall come back to magnum, who will no doubt have better boots for me to get!

Magnum Classics, The original

I first heard about Magnum boots from my local army surplus and camping store. At first I wasn’t keen on the idea, having worn standard British army boots and not getting on well with the lack of comfort. However, a year or so later I’d worn out my previous walking shoes and wanted something more supportive but yet supple enough to run in. Reading sparkling reviews online from enthusiastic owners I decided to give the Magnum classic full leather boot a try.

I normally had problems getting a boot or shoe to fit my foot and then wearing them in for a month or two. To my surprise, after a little walk around my house and surrounding areas the magnums fitted nicely, with great support and freedom at the same time. The full leather means they’re great for all the long grass, mud and wet conditions I walk in and they clean so easily. All you need is to use the original Nikwax (the solid stuff) to cover the boot and then heat it slightly with a hairdryer to allow the leather to absorb it. I treated them once and they didn’t have a problem for months. The sole, though obviously originally designed for urban areas and not woods, gives great grip in most conditions and only really having a problem in very boggy areas. The plastic formed toes caps work well at stopping stubbed toes and allow the boot to be light enough to wear all day. I’m not sure about the plastic formed piece at the heel, I wear thick socks in these boots and it didn’t cause a problem but with thinner ones it might perhaps be annoying. The idea that you can buy steel toed ones of these is great as I need to use safety shoes for work and would mean I don’t have to buy loads of different shoes for every occasion. After a good 2 or 3 years of abuse mine are still going, (the leather is still great but as with all boots and shoes the sole is wearing). A testament to how ruggedly they are made.

I bought a pair of stealth boots with toe protection as the standard issue boots were too heavy when walking all day. The stealth boots are durable, comfortable, waterproof, and stylish. They are highly recommended by me. I spend an average of 8 hours walking each day at work and I would not wear any other product.

Magnum classics

My second pair of Magnum boots in 4 years.

Wow. These boots are fantastic. They are durable, lightweight, breathable and importantly comfortable. They feel like i'm wearing trainers. I have worn other boots that simply do not measure up. The build quality of these boots far surpasses anything i've seen before or since. When the time comes for a new pair of boots, Magnums will definatly be the ones i look at first.

Hard work

As an outdoor activity and sport instructor iv allways needed foot wear thats flexible in more ways than one and this is what i got from the elite II 8ins. i cannot praise the boots enough they have been compleetly abused by me and i havent been let down once. The varied demand of my job has my boots in a permanent workout with climbing, ATV riding, canoeing, hikeing and various range activiys to name a few. the only recomendation i can give for the elites is to add a rubber overplate on the toe as the Dartmoor granite has taken a few chunks out of the lether. the strangest thing about theese boots is that your not itching to take them off at the end of the day because they are so comfortable. a fantastic buy for any job role.

Magnum Response

I am a police officer and have been wearing my Magnum Response boots with side zip on duty for 2 years. I have found them to be very comfortable and hard wearing, and they have put up with hard use without missing a beat.

The side zip is such a simple idea, but saves so much hassle fiddling about with laces, especially if I'm in a hurry. The laces just need re-tying every now and again to keep them tight, but apart from that, I can get my boots on and off quickly... why don't all boots come with a zip?

They are well constructed and so far haven't let in any water, and after a polish they look as good as new.

They surpassed my expectations, especially with a price tag of less than £40. My only gripe is that they could do with softer insoles, but this is something that could easily be solved with a pair of aftermarket insoles.

Magnum Spider Elite 8.0

I have been wearing the Spider Elite boots for almost 2 years whilst on duty. They are by far the most light weight and comfortable boots I have worn.
Both the upper and the sole have worn very well for such a lightweight boots. Even the laces are still going strong.

Although they are very well ventilated I have not experienced any issues with regards to water penetration through either rain or brief immersion in pools of water.
Overall a very comfortable and resilient duty boot.

Latteral stability/flexibility

As a field sportsman of advancing years I find that in rough country - and that is most of it - the ankle support/flexibility ratio of a pair of boots to be of critical importance. Too much of the lattter can mean being stck in the middle of nowhere with a sprained or twisted ankle; too much of the former can result in any torsion being transferred to equally decrepit old knees. Do the ion-masks offer a decent balance in this area?

Feedback on Magnum Stealths 6"

I have owned a pair of these for over 2 years now. I am a Police Officer and wear these daily at work. To me, these boots feel as comfortable as trainers now, they have held up against all weather conditions and some very nasty surfaces that I have walked on (we're talking the tops of fences lined with barbed wire, smashed glass, various bodily fluids!).

Amazingly I haven't even needed to change the laces yet, I can honestly say that the only thing I am considering is a new pair of insoles (however this would be the case with any boots after 2 years)

I'm not the type of officer who bulls his boots on a regular basis, but I do keep then clean and with a layer of two of polish and to me they still look good as new.

The pair I purchased come with side zips, these are great for a fast release, and also when on foot in hot weather you can leave the zip half open and get some much needed ventilation to your feet.

Overall, I would recomend Magnums to any serving or prospective Police Officer.

Magnum Boots Stealth Force 8.0 Leather/Nylon

When i first brought my boots they were really comfertable as i walk a few miles a day.
i find that the souls are really comfertable and they take all the shock when i'm patroling or running. with all other brands of boots they make my feet swet with the magnums they make my feet breath and don't find that they are swety. Even tho i have had my magnums for about a year now there are some wearing issues that could be addressed when they make the 9.0. All in all they are a very good boot

Multi-Role Boots

Hi Folks,

I've currently been using a pair of Magnum Elite II in my role as a Special Constable for the last 18 months. They're not a bad pair of boots, warm, always waterproof but lacking somewhat in ankle support but I suppose that being comfortable and lightweight there is always going . They're scuffed to hell though and the tread is starting to wear so I'm in the market for a new pair.

This is where it get's interesting however, I've just joined the Reserve Forces (Territorial Army) an now that I'm out of basic I can elect to wear non-issue boots. What I don't want to do though is wind up buying loads and loads of different boots and for parade nights and duty I'd like to roll that into the one boot. I'm also looking at Lowe and Altbergs but as Police duty boots I think they'll probably be a bit on the heavy side.

Has anyone got any advice for someone looking for a waterproof multi-role boot like this? Keywords are Lightweight, good ankle support (as my ankles are rubbish) and waterproof. Also, no metal toe caps.

Magnum Elite Force II

I have had these boots for 11 years, in that time I have worn them in 45 different countries and on 4 operational deployments with the Royal Navy. I now work as a gunmaker and spend a lot of time on the range testing new shotguns and rifles. I still wear the same pair of boots and they are still waterproof if a little tatty, they are without a doubt the comfiest footwear I own. The insoles have completely disintegrated and have had to be replaced but otherwise the boots are fine and should last for plenty more years to come!

Good work.

Magnum Phantom 8

Brilliant boots. I've had mine for near on three years now, and they have seen their fair share on fights, blood, vomit, oil, driving and pretty much anything patients, detainees and two dogs can throw at them.
The leather was soft and suple from the outset, and within a day the boots were broken in and comfortable enough to walk miles. Good ankle support certainly helps in the winter, when pavements are icy, not to mention giving good protection when in a bit of a scuffle. Despite this I still find it remarkably easy to drive whilst wearing them, something I often struggle with when wearing other boots.
The sole is good and thick, with deep grooves giving loads of grip. The inner sole is quite stiff and took me a little while to adjust to. It seems to have some sort of memory foam action that shaoes it to your feet, so once I got used to it they were as comfortable as my old trainers.
I have found that the material top above the leather gets a bit damp and can take a couple of days to dry if its been exceptionally wet or theres deep snow. On the plus side they don't seem to hold smells, so even after being urinated on and vomited on more times than I care to mention, they don't reek. Definatly a good thing!
In all I would probably buy another pair when these finally give up for ghost.
Overall 8/10

Magnum Elite II

I work as a technical officer for one the major train operating companies. My work involves accessing track and and working around high voltage equipment. I choose these boots because I felt they were the product on the Market which could stand up to the demanding enviroment I work in. I can confirm they live up to ever bit of my expectation. They are extremely comfortable, supports the foot and ankle very well especially when walking on uneven surfaces. Also when walking over liquids or greasy and slippery surfaces these boots give the maximum grip and stability. These boots are not just functional and practical but are light weight, comfortable, supportive and a well constructed pair of safety equiptment.

MAGNUM Elite Force 8.0 WPi

Hello,

I was issued a pair of these by Police Oracle magazine after answering an advert regarding footwear testers on www.ukpoliceonline.co.uk. Fantastic piece of kit and it has been a delight wearing them for the past 2 months. The reviews that i have already submitted are attached below. I am very interested in becoming a permanent tester for Magnum footwear.

Thanks,

REVIEW 1 - As previously mentioned i was one of the lucky ones to receive a pair of the Size 11 Magnum Force WPi 8.0 boots to try out. I returned to work last Thursday and have worn them for three shifts. For the last year i have been wearing a boot popular with the Army etc, a Jolly boot if any of your are aware of it.

The Magnum Force WPi 8.0 are extremely comfotable and i feel as if my feet have so much room to move and breathe while wearing them. I did a fair bit of walking on Thursday and the boots felt extremely light, as if i was wearing a pair of trainers. I would be quite confident in saying that if they were to be worn for a long period of time i.e. scene guard they would provide adequate comfort. They look very smart and hard wearing and have brought numerous comments from shift members about where i got them from.

Due to an emergency call, i had to run a fair distance today and i again would like to stress how light these boots feel. To sum up, i would recommend these boots to anyone thinking about them for their next pair and can quite safely say that my Jolly boots will be kept for my Public Order courses.

REVIEW 2 - Time for another review of these wonderful boots! I am not sure if it is coincedence but ever since i got these i seem to be chasing folk all the time! One which involved down stairs through a field and up into a close then into a garden, then it was over! In my older PO type boots i would have had no chance, but the Size 11 Magnum Force WPi 8.0 made me feel as if i was running in trainers, much to the amazement of our customer.

I am extremely happy with the boots and i also had the pleasure of being out in the rain walking last week and pleased to say that they did not let one bit of rain. I'm from Scotland so you know it was heavy rain! The only slight criticism i have of the boots is that the laces could be of a different type, they are like cords from hooded tops......

All in all, superb boots and a pleasure to be trying them out.

Magnum Patrol

Hi, I am a volunteer Police Officer and have been for about 3 years. I was issued Magnum Patrol Boots at the start of my training and was initially impressed at their quality. The only other 'work' type boots I had worn previously were CAT, which were so heavy and cumbersome I could not imagine doing 12 shifts in them! 3 years later and the same boots hardly look different (after a lot of boot polish it has to be said!!) I Police for approx 30-40 hours a month, but for the past 12 months have been an Emergency Ambulance technician doing 12-14 hr shifts. The boots have coped with this wear and tear without much marking, and have retained their waterproofness, as well as being really comfy to wear. I also find that at the end of a long day, my feet aren't too offensive, as the boots 'breathe' quite well! I could honestly say that I can see the boots lasting another few years, but as I say, I do look after them ( I have seen colleagues who don't clean or polish their boots, and they do begin to suffer...) Overall, 9/10, the only personal improvement being that I would personally favour an optional zip/velcro front so I could take my boots off on my rare breaks, without having to waste time lacing up when I get a 'job'

Magnum Patrol

I have had these boots now for two years and they have not set a foot wrong (no pun intended). I currently work in retail in a well know super market chain and have worn these shoes nearly every day for the past two years. The soles of the shoes are very good, we have a lot of slippery surfaces in store and I can safely say they have never let me down. I have however had a large pallet dropped onto my right foot and I can safely say if I wasn’t wearing my magnums i would have been looking at a trip to hospital. Over the past few months we have had several thefts from the store, this resulted in me being involved in many foot pursuits with the thieves and I have to say, it felt like I was wearing trainers. (By the way I caught all of them). Excellent boots, if you need a new pair of boots look no further than Magnum, I can’t recommend them enough. I am now due to start training to be a special constable and the business is coming your way. Well done Magnum, keep up the good work!

Magnum Elite II CF 2

I chose these products first of all down to the well known Magnum brand, and when I got them through the post I decided that it was a very good decision to have chosen the Elite II CF.
When I first put them on, they were very comfortable, among the most comfortable pieces of footwear I have worn.
I then started wearing them when on duty, and they proved very useable under all conditions. They were light enough to be able to chase after suspects in, but are also heavyweight enough to withstand bottles and other items having been thrown at them. The carbon toe has proved especially useful one time when on duty as when I knocked on the door of one well known male, he attempted to shut the door on my foot. I instinctively put my foot in the door, and it shut on my foot, but because of the toe cap it did not hurt my foot at all. Also the leather withstood all this as well, and they are still looking as new as possible after nearly a year! And they are still comfortable, I would definitely buy another pair!

Delta 6"

They no longer produce this boot so I have stocked up on them from both issued pairs and from Ebay - Why? Well because they are so comfortable, a really good fit and are like walking in a pair of slippers even after a few hours of patrolling. Being the 6" they are far better suited to driving duties because there is a lot more freedom of movement then you would get with a high leg boot. Pound for pound you get value for money for an every day patrol boot. I reccomend these everytime but look forward to see what they have been replaced by!!

Magnum Patrol

I own 2 pairs of Magnum Patrols, issued to me by my force. The first pair I use for standard duties and they are still going strong after 3 years. The second pair I use for number 1 dress occasions i.e. parades, awards etc...

The grip on the sole is very good and does NOT wear quickly like some other boots. I also like the ankle support. The leather is tough and I have NOT managed to damage the boots after countless foot chases.

On the negative I wish it was easier to get a decent shine on them from polishing.

Stealth Force 6.0 Leather CT CP

Great pair of boot when you first get them out of the box you think is it a shoe is it a boot as it only goes as high as the ankle, but one you slip them on you think you have already worn them in. There is no sore heals or feet once you have had them on for a while as they mold to your feel (well i think they do). They are perfdct for walking about or for running (for the law enforcment out there) and even thou these are my second pair of magnum boots they feel much more comfortable than my first

Magnum Patrol

Just over two years ago I joined the Special Constabulary In Cumbria and was told that I would need boots for patrol, also at the time I started a new job where boots would need to be worn daily. I asked around different officers that I would bwe working with and many of them kept mentioning Magnum boots. So anyway cutting a long story short and after much high street searching to no avail i went online and found a Magnum Supplier and bought the Magnum Patrol boots as they were not as high as the other so I thought more comfortable for wearing day in day out at work and I have to say from the first time I put them on they were comfortable, lightweight, but provided enough ankle support to prevent injuries. I am still wearing my first pair of Magnum Patrol boots for work although I have got a new pair for patrolling in as they have started to look a little worse for wear now after being worn 6 days a week for 2 years and having solvents spilled on them numerous times as well as over 1400hrs patrol. I have heard of all types of boots that people wear but I cannot fault my Magnums at all for durability, comfort and support when patrolling and every day wear.

Magnum Stealth Force 8.0

I've been wearing these boots for a good 3 months now and can honestly say they are the most comfortable footwear that I own,This including my trainers etc.
The fact that they are so light but also extreamly durable is amazing,My colleagues wear a number of different types of boot and I've tried various ones on but none can beat the overall feel of the Steath Force.
Due to my work enviroment it is essential that we wear a non-slip boot, and trust me with the places I have to visit these boots have been tested to the limits and they have not failed, not even in a foot chase have I once fallen over.
I couldn't recomend these boots highly enough..Get a pair !

Magnum Patrol ST Boot

Having gone through various brands of steel toecapped boots for my work within server rooms, I have always struggled to find a pair that fit, are comfortable, don't rub, and are fit for purpose. I have tried several brands from CAT to generic, and nothing has ever lasted in my collection due to either wearing out too fast, or just too uncomfortable.

This is where I remembered back to my first pair of Magnum boots bought for my Police role, and remembered the beauty of not having to break them in. I bought a pair of the Patrol boots in the same size as my other pair, and they were perfect!

The comfort straight out of the box was second to none, and have not rubbed in the 4 months I have worn them. I can honestly say they polish up very quickly to a clean standard (I am not trying to go for parade finish, just honest and clean) and have no tears or rips in the material. Okay, so maybe I cheated, I also bought a pair of innersoles for the shoes, but the comfort without was more than better than the competition.

Working on some sites that are like building sites, there are many hazards. The grip on the soles are comparable to the best of the competition, and I have never felt my feet slip even on slightly oily surfaces.

Would I reccommend the Patrol boots? As a safety boot most certainly. The price point is far better than many branded alternates, and the build quality again is second to none. They feel lighter than other boots I have owned, and hopefully I will never have to find out exactly how strong the steel toes are!

My only downside is that the shape of the boot takes a short while to get used to as I have only worn full boots or shoes, but with the 45 degree angle at the top of the boot, it is easier to bend your ankle than other boots.

Truely an amazing boot, my next purchase will definitely include Magnum in the shortlist!

Magnum Patrol ST

I originally chose Magnum's in 2004 when doing a security job because they had a good reputation as comfortable, safe and reliable footwear. My choice was the Magnum Patrol ST for it's safety and comfort aspects as I was working on a site with many industrial processes and chemicals. I found these boots superb. They were smart in appearance, comfortable to wear all day long and required no breaking in period. They were relatively lightweight but durable, and I felt confident that they wouldn't let me down and would provide good protection in all situations I exposed them to.

In the past few years I joined the ambulance service and found that their standard issue was the Magnum Patrol CEN which is obviously identical to the Patrol ST in appearance, but just doesn't have it's safety features. Due to the Patrol ST's safety features, I continued to purchase my own boots as I felt that these were superior and made me feel more confident in them for the varied situations we sometimes face like emergencies on building sites and vehicle accidents etc, where certain levels of PPE may be more appropriate. These boots have still not let me down in any situation. They always look smart, feel comfortable when worn for periods in excess of 14 hours at a time, and I feel confident in their durability and level of protection. Obviously Paramedics and other ambulance staff provide emergency cover 24/7 and 366 days of the year no matter what the weather, and the only other thing that would be useful for the situations we often face is for them to be waterproof and breathable. Despite that I still continue to wear the Magnum Patrol ST boot as I have done for the past 5+ years, and would highly recommend them to anyone.
